splineTEX® is an innovative composite made of fibre-reinforced plastic,
which can be used to create robust and weatherproof, load-bearing free-form lattice structures in various dimensions for a wide range of functions, for example lamps and luminaires, furniture, exhibition stands and pavilions and façade and construction modules.
Unlike in conventional production processes, free-form geometric structural elements can be produced without form and without costly moulding procedures. In the first, flexible phase, this multiphase composite can be used to produce free-form structural elements (splineTEX® structures) at extremely low cost. In the second phase, these are hardened with resin and can then be used as load-bearing structures.
The low-cost production process means these components are an attractive option not only for the usual industries such as the automotive, aeroplane construction, aerospace and wind power sectors, but also for fields such as civil engineering, interior design and furniture manufacture.
Thanks to the development of the “splineTEX® Form Control” software and a CNC-controlled modelling machine, the digital process chain functions from virtual design to the finished component.
